Google Analytics In-Page Analytics replaces Site Overlay

The Google Site Overlayfeature of Google Analytics used to help us to visualize how visitors navigate on a given page of your website (Website “Overlay” Effect based on user interaction). Google Analytics site overlay was one of the best tools to analyze the user’s interaction with your website pages.

Google analytics overlay feature was very effective in determining the positioning of page elements. Google Analytics has released beta version of In-Page Analytics which replaces Site Overlay and provides more improved features.
In-Page Analytics can be utilized to improve users interaction with your page. It helps you in placing images or other component in a more prominent area by analysing the In-Page clicks and Goal value.
You can access the In-Page Analytics of your site from the content section of your Analytics menu on the left side. See below.

One of the most interesting information visualized by In-Page Analytics is that you can easily find out the links which are recieving more number of clicks in a given web page. You can navigate In-Page Analytics the same way you navigate your site.In-Page-analytics-google site overlay
If you click any link on your homepage the new page will show the the analytics data specific to that page. In th in-page analytics the solid line border of the click analytics bubble indicates that the link leads to the destination page. The dotted-line border indicates that more than one link leads to the same destination page.The left side of the In-page analytics window, Google analytics displays a number of parameters and values including page views, Unique views Time on page, Bounce rate etc. You can also get Adsense revenue information , if your site is using Google Adsense and if the tracking is enabled in Google analytics.
