FotoForensics uses Error Level Analysis (ELA) algorithm. ELA algorithm evaluates the error level potential of a JPEG image. Being a lossy image format every resave degrades the picture. When a picture is modified, the changed parts have a higher error level potential than the rest of the image.
You can upload your images to FotoForensics to check whether it is modified or original. The service supports JPEG or PNG picture for Error Level Analysis. The maximum allowed size of the image is 5 MB and the pictures should also be at least 100×100 pixels.
