Google analytics overlay feature was very effective in determining the positioning of page elements. Google Analytics has released beta version of In-Page Analytics which replaces Site Overlay and provides more improved features.
In-Page Analytics can be utilized to improve users interaction with your page. It helps you in placing images or other component in a more prominent area by analysing the In-Page clicks and Goal value.

If you click any link on your homepage the new page will show the the analytics data specific to that page.
