The email notifier plug-ins are really useful, if they support multiple web-mail accounts like Gmail, Hotmail etc. Webmail Notifier firefox extension is a useful Firefox plugin to check multiple webmail and get notified the number of unread emails.
You can configure different web mails to check including Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. You can also configure POP3 /IMAP also. This is really useful since you don’t have to login to each of the webmail to check for new mail every now and then. If there any new mail notification from Webmail Notifier then you can open the web-mail to read the mail. You can also configure autologin to webmail account. If this is enabled then just click on your mail client the Webmail Notifier will open the respective inbox window.
Optionally certain other sites also can be configured using custom user scripts. These user scripts allows you to configure extra services like Facebook, AdSense , Twitter etc.
After installing WebMail Notifier you can see a mail notifier in the right corner of the browser status bar. Right click on the icon and open “Options” dialog box. You can add required web-mail service as shown below.
Also here you can select options like “Check on Startup” to check mail during startup , “Enable Auto login” etc. You can also set the default check interval which determines the frequency during which the WebMail Notifier checks the web-mail accounts for new mails as seen in the below screen-shot.

Security and privacy concerns
If you are using a public computer then you need to take extra care ensure privacy and security. You can disable ” auto login to webmail ” account to ensure security and prevent others from accessing your web-mail account.
WebMail Notifier saves the user name and password of your web-mail account in order to check for new mails and to enable autologin. Web-mail Notifier uses Firefox’s password manager.
