This is because you cannot take any action since these unnatural links or the backlinks that caused these issues are not in your control. Since Google has already detected this, they will take the appropriate action.
How to Avoid Unnatural Links Penalty from Google?
If you have already taken any steps or link building exercise such as buying backlinks then you have very little to do. If you haven’t done any such activity then never ever go for paid links. Even the buying or selling links is against Google Webmaster Guidelines.
According to Google “Buying or selling links that pass PageRank is in violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines and can negatively impact a site’s ranking in search results.”
Avoid submitting links to blog networks and avoid joining link exchange programs. These activities may add your links anywhere.
Use NoFollow links attribute unless it is necessary. Too many DoFollow links in your site may cause issues. Dofollow links with rich keywords is a good unnatural link candidate.
But as Google Says links purchased for advertising does not comes under unnatural links. But these links should use “NoFollow” link attribute.
Use Google Webmaster Tools, Bing Webmaster Central etc to analyse unnatural links
Google Webmaster Tools provides a section “Links to Your Site” that shows the backlinks to your site. It also shows the domains that are linking back to your site. Similar section is available in Bing Webmaster central also.If your site has good quality content then over a period of time you will get natural backlinks. You don’t have to promote them using any of the methods that violate Google guidelines. It is better to avoid any such shortcuts since Google and other search engines working hard to improve the search results.
