I was looking for a good tool having feature like the services we discussed before ( 5 tools / online services To check your Website / Web page Load Speed ) as well as feature that allows you to test the web page loading from different geographical locations.WebPageTest tool also gives a time-line in its waterfall charts, and numbers the objects to make object performance analysis.The Optimization Checklist,Optimization Report and Object Detail Reports are really helpful in analyzing the performance bottlenecks of your web page and find out the possible solutions for that.
WebPageTest tool checks Key Optimizations parameters like Enable keep-alive, Compress Text (Using GZIP/DEFLATE) ,Compress Images,Cache static content ,Combine js and CSS files,Use a CDN etc and reports whether the test failed or a success.
You can choose Test Location from different geographies across the globe.Also the tool allows you to choose different configuration like browser version, connection and bandwidth.
One of the very interesting feature of the tool is that it provides First View and Repeat View options. Here you can test the Caching using mod_expires and mod_headers etc.
