The Indian Government has approved the official currency symbol of symbol of Indian Rupee few months back. There are few fonts available that supports the new currency symbol.
Majority of the Indian media and advertising agencies have already started using the Indian Rupee Symbol. Fonts like the Rupee Fordian font (Rupee_Foradian.ttf) was available as soon as the official symbol was selected by the Indian Government.
