” Press This ” (press this button) wordpress function provides a quick way to grab text, images, or video from any website and post it to your blog without visiting your wordpress admin panel. WordPress provides Press This as a bookmarklet which can be used for publishing posts quickly.

While browsing, select some text (optional) and click the “Press This” bookmarklet in your browser. Press This will appear in a pop-up window.
If you are not logged in wordpress shall ask you to provide the credential. Then the editor screen appears.
You’ll have the option to add images, video, and/or your own commentary to the post before publishing it to your blog. If you have multiple blogs, use the drop-down menu to choose where to publish the content.
How to use Press This bookmarklet
- Login to your wordpress administration panel.
- Click Tools Menu.
- Drag-and-drop the “Press This” link to your bookmarks bar or right click it and add it to your favorites for a posting shortcut. see below
- The above step will add a bookmarklet to your browser toolbar or favorites
