Here is an application that automatically gets you the Pictures of the Day from many of these sites and helps you to download them or allow you to use as wallpaper. You can use this application to make your wallpaper refreshed everyday or to see those wonderful pictures without visiting each of those websites.
Picturethrill is an open source free application from CodePlex that downloads “Pictures of the Day” from sites you select and wallpapers them for you. Picturethrill provides a useful graphical user interface to manage the application features. It also provides command-line options where you can provide options such as directory to place downloaded images etc. Command line feature automate downloading of pictures to your preferred folder on your hard drive.Get-picture-of-the-dayThe application supports the following sites where it gets images from.
